How to make your event better...
Do you need to plan an event but have no absolutely no idea where to start? Creative Media and Events would like to share a few tips with you for the fast approaching Christmas Season... of course you can always call on us us to help you... please see our contact information at the end of the entry.
Now for your tips:
Staying within your event budget is always important to any business venture but it is essential when planning a corporate event. As the goals of a corporate event are generally not profit based, determining the ROI (or return on investment) is often complicated. Below are some steps that you can take that will not only help you meet event budget guidelines, but can bring you in well under budget!
Location:
Choosing the right location is an integral part of the success of any event. Here are some tips that can help you find the best possible venue at the best price.
1. Researching venues online will save time. Ask your local Chamber of Commerce or Convention and Visitors Bureau about possible venue options. As they will want to keep your event within their districtsThere are websites such as cvent.com, agendaonline.com as well as visitor convention and tourist bureaus i.e.nycvisit.com that allows you to search a database for venues and submit RFP's (Request for Proposal) online., they should be able to do a lot of the legwork for you, saving your staff from making tons of phone calls.
2. Try to keep your event local. By using local destinations, your costs will be considerably less than if you took everyone into a distant major city.
3. When looking at a possible venue, remember to take a video camera to tape your site inspection. or a camera to take photos. This will allow you to review the information later with fresh eyes and without a pushy salesperson!...on your own schedule....
4. Efficient Budgeting Event planning budgeting is the most crucial component of event planning. Remember to really think about all the components that are going into your event before settling on a specific event budget. Review these tips about setting your budget and keeping watch over expenditures.

“Creative Media Introduces the Spa Lifestyle To Jamaica through Spa Week”
With all that has been happening in the Jamaican society it is no surprise that a vast majority of the populace is plagued by stress-related illnesses. What is even more disturbing about the issue is that unless we inform people of alternative ways to alleviate these problems by promoting the practice of “wellness” and its rewards it can only get worse. This is the objective of Jamaica Spa Week 2008.
The campaign was the brainchild of Leighton Davis and it appealed to him because nothing like it was ever done in Jamaica, though it had happened elsewhere. His research also illustrated that quite a number of people had never been to a spa, so he decided that it was full time that Jamaica too embraced the spa lifestyle.
He also discovered that there are numerous health benefits to be derived from regular spa treatments and felt that now is the ideal time to introduce the concept of “wellness” to the Jamaican community.
Davis notes that “In the case of basic spa staples like a massage, targeted treatments can help to ease common muscle and joint conditions like arthritis, sciatica, muscle spasms and cramps. Therapeutic massages can also help to soothe the nervous system and reduce general tension and anxiety and has also proved helpful in the relief of numerous other ailments such as: fibromyalgia, tendonitis, bursitis, pregnancy discomfort, lower back pain, headaches, Parkinson’s and Multiple Sclerosis”.
With this new information, he devised the plan for Jamaica Spa Week which he proposed to the local spa operators who gladly joined forces with him in February to make it happen.
Now after much anticipation, the prestigious event returns this October 31, 2008 - November 8, 2008 with eight spas giving clients 30% discount on selected services for the entire week. The participating spas are:
Adam & Eve Day Spa
Comfort Zone Nail Spa
Diva Salon & Spa
Nirvana Day Spa
Spa Aesthetique
The Face Place
Totally Male Ltd
Y’ashay’s Day Spa
It appears that the spa lifestyle is fast becoming a trend; but despite all these positive results the spa lifestyle still has a long way to go in becoming an integral part of a daily healthy lifestyle in Jamaica.
In light of this Creative Media &Events has two goals for Jamaica Spa Week: to introduce a new generation of Jamaicans to the benefits of a healthy lifestyle while opening up the spa industry to the general public. Their goal is to make “wellness” not just a popular word—but also a reality and a tradition. By educating and introducing the health benefits of the “spa lifestyle” to as many people as possible, Jamaica Spa Week is leading the campaign of changing the unhealthy course the Island is on by practicing “wellness” today so we all can have a happier and healthier tomorrow.

Jamaica Spa Week: A creative idea
In the world today creativity seems to exist in droves but this is not the case as it takes business acumen and a certain expertise to shape and materialize creative ideas into profitable ventures. Fortunately for us, Leighton Davis and Garth Walker are two such talented individuals who know how to transform mere ideas not only into helpful ventures but also into hard cash.
It is for this reason that they formed Creative Media & Events Limited to help create innovative events and promotions for their clients by working closely with major corporate companies on promoting their brands to the 18-35 age groups.
Their company specializes in corporate and private functions such as “Life's Best Kept Secret:” a high caliber launch they recently did for Guardian Life which created quite a stir in the media as everything about it was kept secret until the actual day of the event.
The organization also creates full media support by way of TV ads, graphic design, radio jingles, etc. and what sets them apart is the way in which they use their own expertise to assist their clients by conceptualizing new and different ways to appeal to the right market. It is out of this innovative culture that Jamaica Spa Week came about to help the nation’s spa industry gain recognition as well as to educate the public about wellness and its benefits.
During this week, Creative Media & Events will carry out an intense promotional campaign for the spas by working in tandem with the media, while in return the spas involved lower their prices for a week. It has been highly successful so far and the second staging which begins on the 31st of October to November 8, 2008 will also be equally impressive with new sponsors like Bailey’s and Honey Bun on board.
It is now obvious that whatever the occasion, Creative Media & Events can always ensure a rewarding experience for both event attendees and event planners as they have already made quite a name for themselves in the business.
